The ultimate gamefish. Fly and conventional anglers have been chasing tarpon across the world for well over one hundred years. This is for a reason. Tarpon fit the model for everything you may want: fight hard, monstrous size, willingness to eat, and incredible silver beauty.

Tarpon fishing includes searching for cruising groups, or solo fish in mangrove lined flats. You’ll often hear the term “bow to the king”. This is referring to when the tarpon jumps. This violent jump that the fish performs demands you to “bow” and point the rod straight at the fish and lower your body to create slack in the line. Once the fish lands go back to upright and tight!
