Opportunities abound as we get after permit, tarpon, bonefish and snook on any given day. While our window provides us with a warmer weather stay, there’s often a large payoff for the persistent angler.
The lodge is located on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo. Experience this remote destination Creel style- with WiFi, air conditioned rooms, and incredible fishing opportunities, while enjoying an elevated dining experience.
We’ll arrange your shuttle from your choice of Cancun or Tulum International Airports. Your ride over offers time to relax after your day’s travel, and recharge for your upcoming adventure!

The Elusive Ghost of the Flats
Permit have the reputation of being one of the hardest fish to catch on the fly. They have incredible eyesight and are very sensitive to movements.
Catching them becomes a numbers game. The more shots with properly placed flies that you make, the higher the chance becomes of having one grab your offering.
The habitat surrounding the Xflats provides significant numbers of these critters. This alone will increase your odds. . . . Add in the great guide team and everyday presents the possibility of painting a permit on the trophy wall!

The Silver King
Bow to the Silver King! These majestic fish are known for explosive eats, powerful runs and acrobatic jumps. The mangroves surrounding the Xflats provides ideal habitat for juvenile tarpon.
It’s always a blast to hook these rockets in close quarters as they try to break you off in the mangrove branches. . . .
Looking to hook a monster? Our window allows us to target the larger migratory fish as they travel to and from their spawning grounds.
Big or small, the pursuit of tarpon is one of our favorite ways to spend the day on the Xflats.

Get after tailing bonefish and schools among shallow sections and grassy edges of the flats. If you’re new to saltwater fly fishing, these silver critters will help you hone your fly presentation skills.

The Mangrove Ghost
Don’t underestimate this patient predator. Snook are resident year-round in Xcalak, and are an exciting species to target between taking shots at permit and tarpon.
Aggressive eats and hard fights make snook a ton of fun.
Don’t forget. . . . Add a snook to a “Grand Slam” (Permit, Bonefish and Tarpon in one day) for a “SUPER SLAM”!
