The “Holy Grail” of fly fishing. Many folks go days- if not weeks chasing permit on the flats. Permit may have been created not to eat. Their diet mainly consists of crabs and if your fly doesn’t look right, land right, move right, good luck. Aside from your fly being important permit live in shallow - clear water that just begs for you to be spotted.

Why do it? We like to think of permit fishing as “type B” fun. Once you hook and land a permit it is a lifetime achievement to remember.
