Striped Bass

Striped Bass

“Stripah”

  • Vacationland USA is home to some of the most remarkable fish in the world. Striped Bass migrate up the east coast from Chesapeake Bay every spring to chase the bounty of food that the rocky coast of Maine holds

  • Our striper trip is led by world class Captain Ben Whalley. There is nobody that holds more knowledge about the local waters or fish than Ben.

  • You can find stripers along cruising the flats solo searching for shrimp, crabs, and sand worms. Birds diving can indicate groups of hundreds- maybe thousands of stripers chasing and boiling the ocean as they destroy groups of baitfish.

  • When describing this Maine experience it may sound like a tropical excursion. Standing on the bow of a poling skiff, holding a crab or shrimp fly you slowly work you’re vision looking for tailing fish.
