Striped Marlin

Redfish

Travel Creel spends well over a month every year in the bayou for a reason. Redfish. Pole the flats with the fly in your hand searing for bull reds. When travel creel heads down south it is peak spawning season. We go out and find massive groups of hundreds, maybe thousands of fish busting on top water bait balls.

Fishing with shrimp, crabs, and other gulf like flies is the ticket here. Spot the fish and then you really just have to slap the fish. No need to lay down a 80 foot cast with a perfect drift and presentation. The cast to know for these redfish is a 10 foot quick release. Lots of times you will be surprised how quickly a redfish can sneak up on you if there is no obvious tailing signs
